Food, Civil Supplies, and Public Distribution Minister Sushanta Chowdhury chaired a video conference meeting with officials from the food department of eight districts and sub-divisional magistrates.
The objective of the meeting was to strengthen the public distribution system and promote overall development in the department.
In a Facebook post, the minister stated, "This afternoon, I held a meeting with various sub-divisional magistrates and food department officials from eight districts of the state via video conference. We discussed various important issues related to strengthening the Public Distribution System (PDS) and overall development, including consumer affairs."
During the meeting, the minister gathered detailed information about the stock of various food items from the high-ranking officials present in the video conference. He instructed the food department officials to take necessary measures to ensure that the stocks in the department's warehouses are replenished according to the demand within the specified timeframe.
Additionally, the minister directed the officials to conduct regular on-the-ground monitoring in the markets to maintain stable and affordable prices for essential commodities. He provided valuable suggestions to strengthen the public distribution system, emphasizing the need for collective efforts and dynamic initiatives within the department to facilitate overall development and benefit consumers.
