Minister Sushanta Chowdhury seeks Centre’s intervention over halting Kanchanjangha Express at Belonia station

Thanking the Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for extending Kanchanjangha Express train from Agartala to Sabroom, the state transport minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Tuesday written to Vaishnaw and sought his intervention to halt the train at Belonia subdivision.

In his letter to the union minister Sushanta stated, “Stoppage at Belonia Rail Station shall improve connectivity scope for the residents of Belonia Sub-Division to other parts of Tripura and beyond. It will also allow easier access to transportation for both local residents as well as visitors.”

"Belonia Rail Station will better serve as an important strategic location in the rail network of Tripura, facilitating smoother operations and optimizing the usage of rail resources," the letter reads.

Chowdhury requested the Railway Minister to consider the proposal of stoppage of Kanchanjangha Express at Belonia Rail Station for the greater interest of the people of Belonia.
