The state social welfare and social education minister Tinku Roy on Wednesday chaired a review meeting of his department here at Agartala Pragna Bhawan and said that the government is focused on upgrading the education system in the Anganwadi centres across the state.
He said, “The Anganwadi workers should play an active role in rendering quality education so as to attract more students to study in Anganwadi centres.”
He said that the government has given priority to a better learning environment and infrastructural development of the Anganwadi centers. He advised the employees of the department to work more earnestly to ensure 100 percent vaccination in the Mission Indradhanush 5.0 program in the tribal and minority dominated areas.
Drugs worth Rs 9 crore seized in Assam, two peddlers from Manipur arrested
The Special Task Force (STF) of Assam Police on Tuesday seized over 1.128 kg of heroin worth Rs nine crore and arrested two drug peddlers from Manipur, officials said.
