Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Wednesday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various developmental project work worth Rs 40.57 crore and said that the North East region of the country including the state of Tripura is witnessing massive development due to the Prime Minister’s ‘Act East Policy’.
Addressing the programme, the Chief Minister said that initiatives have been taken to improve the transport infrastructure of the state under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Chief Minister on Wednesday inaugurated the integrated parking complex at Puran Bazar in Khowai virtually in the function held at Jirania. Rs 4.32 crores have been spent for the construction of this integrated parking complex. laid foundation stones for five projects-- Jirania Motor Stand (Rs. 13.25 crore), Khowai District Transport Office at Teliamura (Rs. 6.50 crore), Melaghar Motor Stand (Rs. 5 crore), South Tripura District Transport Office at Santirbazar (Rs. 6.50 crore), and Jolaibari Motor Stand (Rs. 5 crore).
Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Transport Secretary C K Jamatia and Jirania Nagar Panchayat Chairperson Ratan Kumar Das, Ranirbazar Municipal Council Vice Chairperson Prabir Kumar Das, Transport Department Additional Secretary Subrata Chowdhury and others were present in the programme.
On the occasion, Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said that the government's aim is to take the state forward in terms of development. He said that the identity of a state government is created through the development work of the state and a good relationship between the government and the people is created.
