In a significant development, Tripura Police has successfully apprehended one Mizan Mia, a notorious cow thief in connection with the recent theft of nine cows from the households of Subhash Ghosh and Abhijit Baul in the Golaghati Assembly Kanchanmala area.
The incident occurred on December 24, when a group of thieves targeted the residences near Kanchanmala Bazar making off with nine cows under the cover of darkness. Promptly, the victims, Subhash Ghosh and Abhijit Baul, filed a formal complaint at the Amtali police station the following day.
The Amtali police station swiftly took charge of the case, initiating an investigation based on the specific sections mentioned in the victims' complaint. Within a remarkably short span of time, the police identified the prime suspect, Mizan Mia, and collaborated with Melaghar police station and Sonamura police station for his apprehension.
Mizan Mia was successfully arrested from his residence in Melaghar Ghrantali area on Wednesday evening by the Melaghar police station. Subsequently, he was handed over to the Amtali police station late that night.
During the initial questioning by the investigating officers, Mizan Mia voluntarily confessed to his full involvement in the cow theft incident. Furthermore, he disclosed the identities of all accomplices who participated in the criminal act.
On Thursday morning, Mizan Mia admitted his guilt to reporters, providing further details about the theft and naming those involved. Based on his confession, the Amtali police station is actively working to apprehend the remaining suspects.
