Nurses in GB Hospital agitates to demand regularization; warns Govt of PIL in HC

AGARTALA:

Appointed during the COVID pandemic, the contractual nurses of the AGMC and GBP Hospital on Friday agitated here at Agartala to press for their demand of regularization and warned the government of filing PIL in the High Court of their demands are not met.

“We were appointed during the time of COVID pandemic and accordingly we worked tirelessly for the well-being of COVID patients at GBP Hospital. It has been three years that we were appointed, but we are not regularized yet by the government,” said the agitators.

They stated, “We were promised a monthly salary of Rs 20,000 under fixed pay, but for the past five to six months, we have not received any payment.”

“If the government and the health department fail to take appropriate measures for our welfare, we will have no choice but to approach the High Court of Tripura with a PIL to seek justice,” they added.
