In a significant operation, Tripura Police seized 10 grams of heroin during a search of a passenger auto in Bhuiyar Matha area in Bishalgarh.
Following the discovery, Ratan Namashudra was apprehended in Chandanagar.
The operation was carried out based on confidential information received by the police. Acting swiftly, officers intercepted the passenger auto bearing registration number TR01 D 3634, leading to the discovery of the illegal substance.
Ratan Namashudra, the driver of the vehicle is currently under police custody and is being interrogated. Authorities suspect the involvement of additional individuals in the case.
The passenger auto along with Namashudra was transported to the Bishalgarh police station for further investigation. An NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) case has been filed against the accused.
OC Tapas Das, addressing the media in a press conference held at 4:30 pm on Wednesday, stated that Namashudra is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow.
