In another successful raid, Tripura Police on Tuesday seized cannabis worth Rs 50 lakh from Churaibari that shares an interstate border of Tripura and Assam.
Speaking on the issue, North Tripura District Superintendent of Police Bhanupada Chakraborty said that based on a tip off the Tripura Police has detained a truck which was enroute to Assam from Agartala.
“Today based on a tip off we have detained a truck from Churaibari area under North district. After detaining the truck we have seized 250 kgs of cannabis which was kept in 47 packets. We have arrested the driver cum owner Surajit Majumder. The truck was coming from Agartala and was enroute to Guwahati. The price would be around Rs 50 lakh”, he added.
