Tripura Police have arrested a man and seized narcotics and live ammunition valued at over Rs 2 lakh in Mohinipur Gram Panchayat, Sidhai, under West District.
A police official from the Sidhai Police Station reported that on Sunday night, they received a tip-off about an unknown person being detained in a rubber plantation. Upon arriving at the scene, the police found the individual, later identified as Ramkrishna Pal (39) from Jagatpur, with injuries and a bag.
The Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) and DCM arrived to assist in the investigation, and upon searching the bag, they recovered 94 bottles of banned Eskuf cough syrup, 229 grams of heroin, and five live 9mm bullets.
The total value of the seized items is estimated to be over Rs 2 lakh. The police have registered two cases against Pal in connection with the incident.
