One held with Phensidyl of Rs 9 lakh at Khayerpur

In a significant operation, the Bodhjung Nagar police station arrested a man in possession of Phensidyl and impounded a container car in the Khayerpur bypass area. The arrest was made on Thursday night following a tip-off received by the Khayerpur outpost police station.

Acting on the secret information, Krishnadhan Sarkar, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bodhjung Nagar police station, coordinated with the Khairpur outpost and swiftly mobilized a team to the specified location. Upon arrival, the police discovered the unloading of several cartons of Phensidyl from a container car.

A total of 12 cartons of Phensidyl were seized during the operation, with an estimated black market value of Rs 9 lakhs. The arrested individual, identified as Jogen Hazarika, hails from Assam and was apprehended at the scene.

OC Krishnadhan Sarkar confirmed that a case has been registered against Jogen Hazarika under specific clauses related to drug possession and trafficking. The container vehicle, which had entered the state from outside, was also impounded. The police handed over the arrested driver to the court on Friday, requesting police remand to further investigate the matter.
