AGARTALA:

In a significant breakthrough, the Assam Police in Churaibari watch post police today seized contraband items worth Rs 1 crore en route to Tripura from Guwahati.

The police intercepted a fourteen-wheeled potato lorry bearing the number plate RJ 04 GB 3615 on Sunday, discovering a staggering 12,500 bottles of the infamous Phensidyl hidden in a specially designed chamber beneath rows of potato sacks.

The black market value of the seized drugs is estimated to be around one crore rupees. The police have initiated an investigation under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act against the apprehended trafficker.
