Pradesh BJP President Rajib Bhattacharya stated on Thursday that the Congress has become a rudderless ship following its loss in four states during the recent elections.
Bhattacharya made these remarks during a massive joining program, where approximately 1,200 voters from 523 families formerly associated with CPIM and Congress joined the saffron camp at Karamcherra in the Dhalai District.
"I received a call last night from two senior CPIM leaders requesting a meeting. During the meeting, they praised the role of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP government. The main agenda of the CPIM leaders was that they are losing ground because there is no alternative to the BJP. People who were once supporters of Congress and CPIM in the state have started joining the BJP. They have realized that the present BJP government, both at the state and central levels, is working for the overall development of the state," said the BJP chief.
He accused CPIM, Congress and other regional parties of being incapable of fostering development, claiming that only the BJP can deliver benefits to the people without unnecessary political movements.
"As we believe in 'Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas,' our government is committed to overall development. Congress is now a rudderless ship, having lost four states. They have also raised slogans against PM Modi, claiming they will win the next election. The condition of Congress is dire not only in Tripura but throughout the country. Present Congress leaders in the state have changed parties seven times, primarily driven by financial motives," he added.
