The Union Minister of State for Panchayat Raj Kapil Moreshwar Patil on Monday claimed that the North East states of the country are being developed on priority basis under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Addressing a press conference here at Agartala State Guest House, the Union Minister claimed that as part of the initiative of ensuring sustainable income for the women in self-help groups (SHGs), over 80000 women in Tripura have become ‘Lakhpati Didi’.
“Efforts are being made to make the remaining women in SHGs Lakhpati Didi in the coming months this year,” he told reporters.
Expressing satisfaction over the progress in various fields under the Central Schemes, the Union Minister said that various benefits are being provided to the people of the state through proper implementation of various Central Schemes such as REGA, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, NRLM, Gram Swaraj and others.
Meanwhile, praising the work of the state government's 'Amar Sarkar' portal, he said that the initiative of going door to door to solve problems in rural areas and publish job information on the portal is very novel. He also appreciated the positive competitive environment being created between villages or blocks to do well in it. He also praised the initiative of 'Bal Sabha' to make child friendly villages and 100 percent UPI payments to panchayats.
