Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Saturday inaugurated the newly constructed Municipal Council building at Ambassa in Dhalai district and said that the North East region of the country including Tripura has witnessed tremendous transformation under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Act East’ policy.
Addressing the gathering in the inauguration programme, the Chief Minister said that the present government has been able to gain the trust of the people of the state through the successful implementation of the multifaceted welfare schemes of the central and state governments.
“54,640 houses have been sanctioned under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in the entire Dhalai district. Already 88 percent of housing construction has been completed, which is a remarkable achievement,” he said, adding that 70 percent of the houses in Dhalai district have been connected with purified drinking water.
The Chief Minister thanked the Central Government and the Prime Minister for the unprecedented progress of the railway services in the state for the development of the communication system and for the construction of the new National Highway.
