The Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhoumik on Sunday said that the PM-Vishwakarma Yojana will play a major role in promoting and upliftment of the traditional artisans and craftsperson of the country.
Bhoumik was addressing a gathering here at Agartala Rabindra Bhawan, where the launching of the Yojna by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi was broadcasted Live from Delhi.
Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Industry and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma, Principal Secretary of Industry and Commerce Department K S Sethi and others were present in the programme.
Addressing the gathering, the MoS said that PM Modi has initiated this scheme for the development and upliftment of a neglected group of artisans and craftsperson of the country. This scheme will also play a role in the economic development of rural areas of the country, she said.
Meanwhile, the state Industry and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma said that this scheme will help the economic development of small handicrafts and artisans.
