Police arrested two persons with cannabis of Rs 5 lakh

AGARTALA:

Tripura Police arrested two persons on Sunday late at night based of tip-off and seized 52 kgs of dry cannabis from the Bhagalpur area, under Airport Police Station.

OC of Airport Police Station Suman Singh told reporters on Sunday night that the Police Officer of Airport Police Station received secret information that Prasenjit Biswas, a resident of Bhagalpur area, has kept huge cache of narcotics stored in his house.

“At any time these drugs can be smuggled into Bangladesh. After completing all the legal procedures, the airport police conducted a raid on the house of Prasenjit Biswas. 52 kg of dry cannabis was recovered in this operation. Prasenjit Biswas and Ranit Das were arrested at the same time. The black market value of the recovered cannabis will be around Rs 5 lakh rupees”, he said.
