Police of West Agartala police station and Battala outpost on Friday last detained one youth and seized narcotic items worth over Rs 2 lakh.
The detained youth identified as Mangaldeep Biswas was detained from Agartala Battala bazar.
SDPO Debaprasad Roy said that based on a specific information, a team of police led by the OC of West Agartala Police Station Paritosh Das and OC of Battala out post Subhajit Deb raided the Battala bazar on Friday last and detained the youth Mangaldeep Biswas from the vegetable market.
“We recovered 2000 yaba tablets and 11.97 gm Brown sugar worth around Rs 2,5 lakh from his possession,” he told reporters, adding that he was earlier detained in 2023 under the NDPS Act and the case is presently under trail in the court.
Police said that a specific case has been registered against the accused Mangaldeep Biswas.
