The state Chief Electoral Officer Puneet Agarwal, who is presently in a visit to different parts of the state to assess the poll counting preparedness, on Friday made his visit to the Gomati and South Tripura district and took a stock of the preparation of poll counting, to be held on June 4 next.
The CEO first visited the counting center of Udaipur subdivision in Gomti district, where he inspected the poll counting preparedness in Udaipur Ramesh English Medium Higher Secondary School. The polls of 30- Bagma (ST), 31-Radhakishorepur, 32-Matabari and 33-Kakraban-Shalgara (SC) assembly constituencies will be counted in the center on June 4 next.
The CEO was was accompanied by District Election Officer of Gomti District and District Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner Tarit Kanti Chakma, District Superintendent of Police Namit Pathak, Additional District Magistrate Sumit Lodh, Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Udaipur Sub-division Jayant Bhattacharya and others.
During the visit, he reviewed the preparation of counting centers and law and order issues. Besides, the Chief Electoral Officer visited the media center and the room designated for counting observers.
After Gomati district, the Chief Election Officer Puneet Agarwal visited the strong room of the Shantirbazar Sub-Divisional Ruler's office and inspected the counting preparations.
After visiting the strongroom, the CEO chaired a meeting in the conference room of Shantirbazar SDM Office to prepare for the counting of votes. The meeting was attended by District Magistrate of South Tripura District and District Election Officer Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal, Superintendent of Police of South Tripura District Ashok Kumar Sinha, Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Shantirbazar Sub-Division Abhedanand Vaidya, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Sougat Chakma, Assistant Returning Officers of 7 Assembly Constituencies of the district and other concerned officers.
