In a significant development regarding the Barajala pistol case, police have apprehended another key suspect, Pintu Debnath, on November 25th. This arrest follows an incident where miscreants opened fire at the residence of Shaktipada Pal, opposite Barajala School, due to prior enmity.
According to reports, Rakesh Roy and Pintu Debnath, residents of Barajala Manipuri neighborhood, have been implicated in the incident as per the statement provided by the homeowner. Acting swiftly on the complaint, authorities from the New Capital Complex police station initiated an investigation into the matter.
Subsequently, a search operation was conducted at the residence of Pintu Debnath, leading to his arrest. Additionally, during the search of Rakesh Roy's house, law enforcement recovered two bullets of a 7.65 mm pistol. However, Rakesh Roy managed to evade arrest initially and had been absconding since the occurrence.
A police official confirmed that Rakesh Roy was apprehended on February 5th and has been in police remand since then. Today, he is scheduled to appear in court where he will face charges related to his involvement in the incident.
This development marks a significant step forward in the ongoing investigation into the Barajala pistol case, shedding light on the individuals potentially responsible for the recent violent altercation. Authorities continue their efforts to ensure justice is served in this matter.
