Aiming to promote the state’s rich cultural heritage, stunning natural beauty and diverse tourism offerings, Tripura tourism has come up with a concept of hosting Promo Fest. The first Tripura Tourism Promo Fest will be launched on December 3 next.
Briefing the media about the concept on Saturday here at Agartala, the state tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury said that Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha will inaugurate the promo fest on December 3 next in a function at Narikel Kunja tourist destination.
He said that from this year onward the promo fest will be held every year, which aims to showcase Tripura’s unique attractions, cuisine, handicrafts and traditions. The Promo Fest of Tripura tourism also aims to showcase the lifestyle of the 18 tribes of the state of Tripura.
The minister also informed that as part of the fest, the renowned singer Shreya Ghoshal will perform a live concert here at Agartala Swami Vivekananda ground on December 14 next.
To foster community engagement, the promo fest also aims to increase tourist footfalls by 30%-50%, promote Tripura as a premier tourist destination and enhance local economic growth.
After the inauguration ceremony on December 3 next, programme will be held at Neermahal on December 9, Jampui Hills on December 11 and the main event will be held here at Agartala from December 12 to December 14.
