The Union defence minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday appealed to the voters to bloom two lotuses in two separate assembly constituencies at Kailasahar and claimed that development is progressing rapidly in Tripura.
“Tripura is on the way to become number one state in the North-East region of the country,” he said while addressing the party’s campaign rally at Kailasahar in support of two candidates for two separate constituencies of Kailasahar and Chandipur – Mabasar Ali and Tinku Roy.
He said, “BJP brought development to the state which was plagued by poor infrastructure during the CPI(M)'s rule. Electricity, water connections, roads and highways were made available in the state since 2018.”
He also claimed that violence had stopped in Tripura which was massive during the time of the CPI(M).
Former Chief Minister and presently the Rajya Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb, who accompanied Rajnath Singh in the rally on Tuesday took a jibe at both the Congress and the CPI(M) party and said, “Before asking for vote to the people of this state, the leaders of both the party should shave their heads.”
“This time Congress leader Birjit Sinha climbed on the shoulder of CPI(M) to ask vote for the Congress party,” he said.
