Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath on Monday said that the state government is planning to use modern technology to produce power in the state.
Power Minister Nath said this while addressing the 20th foundation day celebration of Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited today.
“Electricity is essential in every aspect of life. Therefore, there is no alternative to electricity even in developing a better country”, said Nath.
A colorful rally and health camp was organized on the occasion at the corporate office premises at North Banamalipur.
In the morning, the power minister started the rally by waving the flag and releasing balloons in the corporate office premises. Later, a colorful rally of the office took place around the various streets of the city.
On the occasion, Power Minister Nath wished everyone a Happy New Year and said that the current central and state government's objective is to provide electricity service to every family.
“And this work is progressing rapidly. He said that generating electricity using new technology will save a lot of money. It is possible to double the amount of electricity currently being produced in the state with the use of advanced technology. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to the people of the country to reduce dependence on natural gas, coal-based power generation and focus on renewable energy. So we also have to think about alternatives. The current government, the per capita income of the people of the state has increased to Rs 1 lakh 49 thousand”, said Nath.
On the occasion, Abhishek Singh, Secretary of the Power Department, said that the journey of TSECL started on this day in 2005. He said that a meeting was recently held with the power secretaries of various states under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in order to give direction to reach electricity service to every family in the country. TSECL Director (Finance) Sarbajit Dogra delivered the welcome address on the occasion. In the health camp organized on the occasion of the event, 92 people were examined and given free medicine.
