Rath yatra tragedy: Minister Tinku Roy hand over Govt’s financial assistance of Rs. 4 lakh each to family members of deceased

The social welfare and social education minister Tinku Roy on Monday handed over the government’s financial assistance of Rs. 4 lakh each to the families of the deceased persons of the Kumarghat Ratha Yatra tragedy.

Unakoti District Magistrate Tarit Kanti Chakma, SDM Subrata Kumar Das, Chairperson of the Kumarghat Municipal Corporation Bishwajit Das and others accompanied the minister while he visited the residence of the deceased persons to hand over the financial assistance to the family members at Kumarghat.

He said that the government had already announced to stand by the family members of the deceased persons and announced financial assistance so that the families need not struggle further.

The financial assistance announced from the Prime Minister's Relief Fund will also be provided within a few days, he said.
