At a time then the opposition TIPRA Motha party and other oppositions were castigating the government of allocating less budget for the TTAADC, the minister and MLA Ratan Lal Nath on Wednesday called the oppositions as ‘hypocrite’ to allege that the oppositions are misleading the innocent indigenous people of the state by overruling the state’s budget.
Addressing a press conference here at the BJP party headquarter on Wednesday, the minister said, “The Rs 27,654.44 crores budget presented recently in the assembly had allocated as high as Rs 5608.72 crore under the Tribal Sub-Plan which means 39.81% budget is allocated for the tribal welfare, which itself has set a record.”
“Some political parties are misleading the innocent people of the state over the state budget. They are hypocritical and they are disrupting the development of the state by not having a constructive discussion in the assembly,” he told reporters.
Underlining the achievement of the BJP government, Nath said, “Soon after coming to power the government had allocated 38.40% of the budgetary allocation to the ADC and tribal people in the year 2018-2019, with which the budgetary allocation was raised by 39.52%.”
Regarding the empowerment of the ADC, Nath on Wednesday said, “The then union home minister Rajnath Singh had tabled the 125th amendment of the constitution for increasing the power of the ADCs based on 6th schedule in Rajya Sabha in the year 2019, but the bill is still pending with the parliamentary standing committee of the union home ministry and opinion has been sought from other states like Assam, Meghalaya and Mizoram.”
