The Tripura State AIDS Control Society in collaboration with the Tripura Journalists Union and Tripura Web Media Forum organized a day-long awareness program on the role of journalists in AIDS control here at Agartala Sukanta Academy Auditorium on Friday.
Dr. Samarpita Dutta, Project Director, Tripura State AIDS Control Society, Director of Health Department Professor (Dr.) Sanjeev Debbarma, Director of ICA department Bimbisar Bhattacharjee, Tripura Journalist Union President Pranab Sarkar, AGMC Deputy Superintendent Dr. Kanak Chowdhury, Tripura State AIDS Control Society Joint Director Subhrajit Bhattacharya, senior journalist Manas Pal, Tripura Web Media Forum Secretary Abhishek Dey and others were present in the programme.
The speakers in the programme mainly stressed on the need of generating more awareness on AIDS control. Series of issues including the role of journalists on prevention and control of AIDS were discussed in detail in the workshop.
A documentary on AIDS by Birat Roy Chowdhury made with artistes of the state was screened on the occasion.
