Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Friday hailed Rs. 27654.45 Cr deficit budget presented by the state finance minister Pranajit Singha Roy as ‘inclusive’ and ‘growth-oriented’. He said that the budget is the projection of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mantra of ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’.
Addressing a press conference on Friday here in his chamber of the state legislative assembly, the Chief Minister Dr. Saha said that people of all walks of life will be benefited at large from this budget.
The budget targeted the key sectors of education with an allocation of Rs. 4939 crore, Rs. 1360 crore for development of roads, Rs.1756 crore for health and Rs.1436 crore has been allocated for agriculture and related sectors, he said, adding that 13 new projects have been announced in the budget for the financial year 2023-24.
He further added that Rs. 59 crores have been allocated in the budget for 'Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana', Rs. 10 crores have been allocated for 'Mukhyamantri Integrated Crop Management Programme', Rs. 8 crore for 'Mukhyamantri Sports Development Scheme', Rs. 30 crores have been allocated for 'Chief Minister's Janjati Kalyan Scheme', Rs. 50 crore for 'Chief Minister's Skill Development Scheme' to make the youth of the state skilled for employment, Rs. 120 crore for 'Chief Minister's Urban Development Scheme' and Rs. 3 crore for ‘CM-Sath scheme to provide assistance to meritorious students at secondary and higher secondary levels.
The Chief Minister said that the budget also proposed setting up an artificial intelligence center in the state, which will help the state government using artificial intelligence in delivering public services and good governance. He said that this year's budget has been prepared on various welfare activities and plans undertaken by the state government in the last 5 years.
