Seven held in Agartala with drugs worth Rs 2 lakh

Tripura Police on Wednesday arrested seven drug paddlers and seized contraband items worth Rs 2 lakh from the Abhoynagar area in Agartala city.

Speaking about the matter, a police officer from New Capital Complex Police Station said that they have received information that two drug peddlers group will come near the Abhoynagar area to distribute drugs among themselves.

“Accordingly with the NCC SDPO and other police officials, we set a trap and when both the group came near the Abhoynagar area with a number plate less auto and started distributing drugs among them, we have arrested seven of them. We seized 200 vials of heroin and a soap case of heroin, three mobiles, and Rs 3,000 cash seized”, he said.

The police personnel said that the estimated price would be around Rs 2 lakh.
