CBSE has recently concluded its First Two Days National Summit - "Facilitating School to Work Transition" and "SKILL EXPO -2023" on 20th September 2023, at ICAR Auditorium, Library Avenue, Pusa, New Delhi in which the Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS), Khumulwng, Jirania, West Tripura was selected and invited by CBSE to participate and exhibit their student's creations on two themes namely, TEXTILE and JEWELRY MAKING.
Accordingly, a team of four students guided by Sri Bhabatosh Nath Chaudhuri, the Principal, EMRS Khumulwng along with three teachers participated in the summit and exhibited self woven/made traditional tribal attire like RISHA, RUKUTU and JEWELRIES by the students.
The Chairperson of CBSE, Smt. Nidhi Chhibber who personally paid a visit in the stall of EMRS Khumulwng and applauded for the student's creation.
The Principal of the school, Sri Nath has informed that, his school was the only EMRS of the country which has participated in the summit and their stall of exhibition was so colourful and hence got lots of appreciation from the officials of CBSE, National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS) and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).
In addition, a good number of firms and entrepreneurs have shown their interest for purchasing those traditional attires and jewelleries made by students which is believed to give a big booster to one of the 21st century skill i.e, entrepreneurship by the students.
The teachers and other stakeholders of EMRS Khumulwng have expressed a great sense of satisfaction for the effort of their students.
