Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Wednesday joined the virtual launching of the Ayushman Bhava Campaign by the president of India Droupadi Murmu and said that the initiative is to reach the last mile and enable access to health care services to every village through this campaign.
Dr. Saha launched the state-level campaign on Wednesday and said that the state government has given importance to the development of health infrastructure to deliver health services to the last people of the society.
“Hospitals are being strengthened to reduce the pressure of referral patients from district and sub-division to GB Hospital and IGM Hospital. To strengthen the basic health infrastructure of the state, plans have been made to construct 100 new sub-health centres,” he said.
The Chief Minister said that besides developing health infrastructure, the state government is also serious about solving the problems of health workers at all levels associated with health services.
He said, “Prime Minister is working by taking various plans with the aim of providing health services to the last person in the society and also to fulfill his dream of healthy India and as part of this the Union Ministry of Health has undertaken Ayushman Bhava campaign with the aim of providing health services to rural and urban areas and making people aware about various health services.”
The Chief Minister said that due to the sincere efforts of the Prime Minister, the health system of the country has improved greatly. The health system of the country has also been praised at the recently held G-20 conference in India, he added.
The Ayushman Bhava campaign will last till October 2 this year and the initiative was taken mainly to mark the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
CM Dr. Saha further said that the government will organise ‘Seva Pakwada’ as part of the Ayushman Bhava campaign to ensure saturation of essential health services from September 17 to October 2 this year.
