The state level youth festival to begin from November 13 at Kailashahar in Unakoti district of the state. The three days long festival will end on November 15.
The state Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy on Friday chaired a preparatory meeting at Kailashahar Circuit House and said that the festival will be held at Unakoti Kalakshetra in Kailashahar.
The minister further informed that Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha is likely to inaugurate the programme on November 13. He also said that competitions in group and solo folk dances, folk songs, painting, poetry and story writing will be held in the youth festival.
In the meeting, a management committee and 9 sub-committees have been formed for the smooth completion of the youth festival and science fair.
Chairman of Unakoti Zilla Parishad Amlendu Das, Assistant Chairman Santosh Dhar, Chairperson of Kailasahar Municipal Council Chapla Deb Ray, Chairman of Chandipur Panchayat Samiti Sampa Das Pal, Secretary of Youth Affairs and Sports Department P K Chakraborty, District Magistrate of Unakoti district Dilip Kumar Chakma, Director of Youth Affairs and Sports Department Satyabrata Nath, Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Kailashahar Sub-division Pradeep Sarkar and others were present in the preparatory meeting.
