Growing frustration among Secondary Teachers' Graduate Test (STGT) candidates reached a peak as a group of aspirants organized a deputation to meet with the director of the education department. The primary objective of the gathering was to press for the swift release of the STGT exam results, which have been withheld for the past 17 months, leaving aspiring teachers in a state of uncertainty.
Despite multiple attempts to seek clarification from the Teacher's Recruitment Board Tripura (TRBT), STGT aspirants claim to have received no response regarding the status of their results. Adding to their dismay, results for the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 1 and TET 2 exams have been disclosed by TRBT, further deepening the sense of frustration among the STGT candidates.
A spokesperson for the aspirants expressed their concerns, stating, "Our repeated attempts to seek information on the STGT results from TRBT have been met with silence. The lack of communication has hampered our career progression, as the recruitment process remains stagnant."
Initially, the government had cited legal hurdles as the cause for the delay in completing the recruitment process. However, the candidates argue that these legal obstacles have since been resolved, yet TRBT has not taken steps to initiate the appointment process.
In response to the ongoing delay, STGT aspirants reconvened in a deputation at the TRBT office today, restating their demand for the immediate release of exam results. They are also urging the authorities to expedite collective appointments, allowing successful candidates to embark on their teaching careers without further delays.
Highlighting the significance of transparency in the recruitment process, the candidates called upon the education department and TRBT to prioritize their concerns. The aspirants emphasized the prolonged period of uncertainty they have endured since taking the STGT exam and urged prompt action to address their grievances.
