A fervent call for quality education echoed through the streets of Murasingh Para as students from Nishikumar Murasingpara 12th Class School staged a protest, disrupting traffic to spotlight the acute shortage of teachers in critical subjects. The deadlock persisted until the DCM intervened offering assurances to address the crisis.
Situated in Murasingh Para under the Shantir Bazar subdivision the school has grappled with a severe dearth of teachers specifically in English, Education and History. Frustration reached its zenith as students disillusioned by the prolonged absence of educators, barricaded the school premises demanding urgent intervention to rectify the staffing crisis.
The origins of the issue trace back to 2018 when the school lost its history teacher followed by the English teacher in 2023 and the education teacher in 2020. Alarmingly, no replacements were appointed, creating a substantial void in the faculty and compromising the quality of education.
With an enrollment of 232 students, the school has struggled to maintain educational standards in the absence of qualified instructors for these crucial subjects. Faced with persistent challenges in their studies, students resorted to drastic measures to draw attention to their plight.
Upon learning of the road blockade, the District Commissioner promptly arrived at the scene to engage with the students. Offering assurances of swift action to address the teacher recruitment issue the commissioner succeeded in persuading the students to lift the blockade, restoring normal traffic flow.
This incident underscores the pressing need for educational authorities to bridge staffing gaps in schools ensuring students receive the quality education they deserve. As the community awaits a sustainable solution, the spotlight remains on the authorities to fulfill their commitment to education in Nishikumar Murasingpara 12th Class School.
