The I.N.D.I.A bloc Tripura on Wednesday announced its 25-member committee ahead of the Lok Sabha elections and called for united fight against the ‘fascistic’ government at the Centre.
Convenor of the I.N.D.I.A bloc Tripura and Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman addressed a press conference here at Agartala Press Club and castigated the BJP-led government at the Centre. He said, “I.N.D.I.A bloc is focused to save democracy and constitution of the country by dethroning the BJP from power in this ensuing Lok Sabha election.”
“This government, which ruined the livelihoods of the people of this country and throttled the voice of democracy during the last 10 years, has been constantly targeting the opposition by using their machineries like ED and CBI,” Barman alleged.
He said, “In this odd situation, where the government has failed to meet the aspirations of the people and brought a complete crisis in the country, the I.N.D.I.A bloc is committed to fight united against this fascistic government. We shall move to every door and make the people understand.”
Barman read out the Congress Manifesto for 2024 elections, which were discussed recently by the Congress Working Committee (CWC) and said that the Congress will fight against BJP based on 5-Nyay. The Yuva Nyay, Nari Nyay, Kisan Nyay, Shramik Nyay and Hissedari Nyay will stand as a testament to trust and commitment of the Congress party.
Meanwhile, Barman took a jibe at the TIPRA Motha party to castigate the founder of the party – Pradyot Kishore Deb Burman. Without naming any individual or any party, Barman said, “Nothing can be as shameful as that of making own sister candidate for the Lok Sabha election by cheating the people of his own community. The tribals in Tripura were cheated at large in the name of slogans like – constitutional solution, Puila Jati Ulo Party, no compromise, etc.”
