In a surprising turn of events in Tripura's political landscape, former Minister and Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman called upon former TIPRA Motha Chairman to amalgamate his party with the Congress and assume the role of president.
Sudip articulated this proposal during his address at the joining ceremony of Advasi Congress, the tribal faction of the venerable party, in Agartala.
"I extend an invitation to the Tipra Motha party and its leader to unite with the Congress. Step forth to lead the party, and we will stand firmly by your side. Embrace the mantle of the presidency and we will extend our unwavering support," urged Sudip.
He affirmed that Pradesh Congress continues to hold the same reverence and fondness for the royal family as it has in the past.
"On a personal level, I hold deep respect and affection for Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma. The Congress has consistently upheld the sanctity of the royal palace and we remain committed to this sentiment. We hold this royal family in high esteem, which is exemplified by the fact that two members from their lineage have been Congress MPs. Pradyot served as the president and Secretary of AICC. Even today, I regard Pradyot as an integral member of the Congress family," stated Roy Barman.
