Sushanta Chowdhury, the Tourism Minister announced on Friday that the initiation of state tourism sector development projects backed by financial assistance from the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD).
Minister Chowdhury expressed that the current administration is dedicated to enhancing the state's economy through the growth of the tourism industry. To achieve this goal, the State Tourism Department has embarked on extensive endeavors. The strategy involves the proposal of multiple projects aimed at fostering tourism within the state with funding secured from the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD).
During a meeting convened in the minister's office, thorough deliberations were held on this matter. Various projects seeking financial backing from NABARD were subjected to discussion and scrutiny.
The meeting brought together key figures including Uttam Kumar Chakma, Secretary of the Tourism Department; Loken Das, Regional General Manager of NABARD; Diganta Kumar Das, Deputy General Manager of NABARD; Bodhayan Ghosh, Assistant Manager; Tapan Kumar Das, Director of Tripura Tourism Development Corporation Ltd.; along with other notable officials. This pivotal gathering marked a significant step in advancing the agenda of tourism development within the state.
Drugs worth Rs 9 crore seized in Assam, two peddlers from Manipur arrested
The Special Task Force (STF) of Assam Police on Tuesday seized over 1.128 kg of heroin worth Rs nine crore and arrested two drug peddlers from Manipur, officials said.
