The Food Minister, Sushanta Chowdhury today said that children staying in orphanages face challenges right from birth. However their engagement in cultural activities, academics, and other pursuits showcases that overcoming obstacles is attainable in life.
"Every individual possesses the mindset to conquer hindrances and progress," remarked the minister during an event where educational materials were distributed to students from various homes. The event took place at the Institute for Disability Handicapped (Girls) in Narsingar.
As part of the 77th Independence Day celebrations, this initiative aimed to assist students from Child Homes. The effort was led by the staff of the Department of Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs.
"Success is a gradual process. It is achieved through focus, commitment, and hard work. The life journey for these children is more challenging compared to others in society. However, it's crucial to acknowledge that they are not lagging behind. The current government is committed to supporting the welfare of these students," he emphasized.
The minister addressed the present teachers, underscoring that these children lack the love, compassion, and nurturing environment found in regular homes.
"Hence, they should consistently be encouraged to integrate themselves into society and not be burdened by their housing situation," added the minister.
During the event, the Food Minister also engaged with the Home's students. He, along with other guests, presented food items, guitars, music systems, school bags, and various study materials to the students.
Nirmal Adhikari, the Director of Food, Additional Director Animesh Debbarma, Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Mohanpur Subhash Dutta, and other dignitaries graced the occasion with their presence.
