With a specific focus on providing hospitality sector courses, the TATA Trust has agreed to set up and develop a state-of-the-art skill development centre in Tripura Tribal Areas and Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).
In his letter to the Chief Executive Officer of the TTAADC, the Chief Operating Officer of the Tata STRIVE Ameya Vanjari stated, “We are positive and excited to be a part of this project aimed at empowering the youth of the region through skill development and training.”
The project for setting up the Skill Development Centre is collaboration between TTAADC, Tata STRIVE, and IHCL.
“The visionary approach and commitment of TTAADC to skill and provide career opportunities for the tribal youth aligns with our mission at Tata STRIVE to skill youth for careers enabling growth, which is also in line with IHCL' commitment towards supporting livelihoods via skilling initiatives through its programme 'Paathya',” the letter stated.
The TATA trust has shown interest in visiting Agartala to check the facilities identified by the TTAADC for the establishment of the skilling centre.
The Chief Operating Officer in his letter stated, “This visit will allow us to better understand the possibilities, discuss options and draft plans. These plans will form the basis to firm up our collaboration, infrastructure needs, operational and financial plans for the state-of-the-art centre.”
Meanwhile, the founder of TIPRA Motha party Pradyot Kishore Deb Burman sharing this to his social media handle on Thursday stated, “I am glad that the TATA's have agreed in principle to setup a skill development centre with a focus on hospitality and tourism. If our boys and girls get the required skills I am sure we can create a new tomorrow where we can be successful in the hospitality sector across India. I have silently pursued this matter because I know there is more to life than politics.”
