In a significant gesture of support for flood-affected families in Tripura, Telangana Governor and Former Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma flagged off a truck carrying essential relief materials on Sunday.
Sponsored by the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Telangana State Branch, the truck is loaded with baby food, clothing, mosquito nets, emergency medicine, and other necessities intended for 1,000 families impacted by the recent floods.
On Facebook, Governor Dev Varma wrote, “Wherever there is calamity The Red Cross is always there. Today as President of the Red Cross Society of Telangana I flagged off the Relief Materials for the victims of floods in Tripura. I had a telephone conversation with the Chief Minister of Tripura and he expressed his appreciation for this humanitarian effort of the Red Cross Society of Telangana. This is also a step forward in fostering National Integration- Telangana reaching out to the other end of our great diverse country- The North East”.
