In a shocking incident, a human skull was recovered from the sacred pond of the Tripurasundari temple in Udaipur on Wednesday. The incident triggered tension and raised questions about the mysterious discovery.
The locals and pilgrims spotted the skull floating on the pond on Wednesday morning and soon after the concerned authorities including the police were alarmed about the incident. A team of police officials hurried to the scene to investigate the matter.
Alarmed by the mysterious recovery of the human skull, the head priest of the temple, Chandan Chakraborty, along with Matabari Panchayat chief Mantu Das and other temple trust authorities, rushed to the spot.
Meanwhile, the MLA of the Matabari assembly constituency rushed to the spot and took stock of the situation. He met the head priest of the temple and urged to perform ‘Suddhikaran' – purification of the holy water of the pond.
While the investigation is currently underway, the MLA said, “The incident is completely shocking and unexpected. There is a need to install CCTV cameras around the pond and other parts of the temple too. Also, I talked to the DM of the Gomati district to find the feasibility of covering the sacred pond with hydron net.”
Meanwhile, the OSD of the Matabari trust Bhaskar Chakraborty informed that following the mysterious recovery, the NDRF team reached the pond to take a deep into the holy water, but the remaining body part of any human being could be recovered.
