In a concerning surge of theft cases within the jurisdiction of the Airport police station, authorities are facing mounting criticism for their perceived inaction. The recent incident, occurring late Tuesday night, witnessed a brazen attack on three government offices in Gandhigram under the Airport police station.
The targeted offices, namely Water Pump DWS, Fisheries Officer's Office in Bamutia, and Gandhigram Tehsil Kachari, fell victim to a group of thieves. The criminals made off with water purifiers and valuables, leaving a trail of frustration and insecurity among the local community.
Despite repeated incidents, the Airport police station has been accused of playing the role of a silent spectator, failing to thwart the increasing number of thefts. Tuesday night's incident, involving government offices, highlights the audacity of the thieves, who managed to evade the apparently ineffective security measures.
The Fisheries Officer's Office in Bamutia, however, escaped unscathed as the thief found nothing of value to steal. In contrast, the Tehsil office in Kachari suffered losses, with the thieves making away with computer UPS.
Authorities, including the DCM of Mohanpur subdivision and local law enforcement, rushed to the scene upon receiving information about the latest theft. An investigation into the incident has been initiated, with the police vowing to apprehend the culprits and bring them to justice.
