Three held in city involved in drug trafficking

AGARTALA:

In a significant operation, the NCC Police Station apprehended three individuals involved in drug trafficking in the Shyamali Bazar area.

Acting on a tip-off, Tripura Police were strategically positioned in the area, leading to the successful interception of the suspects.

According to a police spokesperson, the arrested individuals were caught red-handed during a drug transaction. The suspects, traveling on a scooty were swiftly apprehended, leading to the discovery of a substantial amount of illicit substances and cash. Upon searching the individuals, the police recovered three mobile phones, along with Rs 23, 000 cash and a staggering 400 gram of brown sugar. The seized evidence is indicative of a significant drug trade operation taking place in the vicinity.

The police spokesperson emphasized that the success of the operation was a result of timely and actionable intelligence received from a reliable source. The arrested individuals are now in custody and will face charges related to drug trafficking.
