Tinku meets Union Minister Gadkari, discusses water logging issue, urged for more highways

AGARTALA:

Tripura Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Tinku Roy met Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari to discuss the water logging issue affecting agricultural land due to the ongoing construction of National Highway 208 in Tripura's Unakoti District.

On Facebook, Minister Roy wrote that he met Union Minister Gadkari in Delhi and apprised him of the problem of rainwater accumulation over vast agricultural lands in the Chandipur Assembly constituency due to the construction of National Highway No. 208.
"During our conversation, Union Minister Gadkari listened to the matter with seriousness and assured me that necessary steps would be taken expeditiously," said Minister Roy.

He further informed that during their meeting, he also presented demands for the construction of new state and national highways and raised concerns about various poor works done by the agency responsible for constructing roads and national highways.
