The former Chairman of the opposition TIPRA Motha party – Pradyot Kishore Deb Barman on Friday categorically said that his party is not fighting from any political line and the genuine fight for the party is to get constitutional rights for the indigenous community of the state.
Soon after landing here at Agartala MBB Airport on Friday, Pradyot said, “TIPRA Motha is not fighting for tickets for the party workers, rather Motha is battling for Greater Tipraland and constitutional rights for the Tiprasas.”
Asked about the two Motha leaders joining another party, Pradyot said, “Even I did not get a ticket in the last assembly election; it does not mean that I will stop fighting for the rights of the Tiprasas. We want to engage more in fighting for the rights of the Tiprasas and less in politics.”
“There is a need to reach out to the Central Minister in Delhi to achieve our demand for Greater Tipraland,” he said and acknowledged the challenges of forming a new party, including financial investments and hard work.
He however believed that the two Motha leaders who recently joined other party, would fight for the rights of indigenous community of the people of this state.
Drugs worth Rs 9 crore seized in Assam, two peddlers from Manipur arrested
