For the first time, the state of Hyderabad on Sunday portrayed Tripura king Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur to celebrate the festival of Tring.
Governor Jishnu Dev Verma, who ho also belongs to the Tripura’s royal family had addressed the gathering of indigenous youths of Tripura living in Hyderabad in an event of Tring festival and said, “Today we are celebrating the festival of Tring for the first time and you have made it a glorious celebration.”
“We celebrate the connection with our roots. We celebrate the history of Tripura. Tring celebrates not only new year but it also celebrates the bravery of our kings, of our general, of our queens and of our lands,” Jishnu said, adding that history of Tripura is being showcased in the city of Hyderabad for the first time through this Tring festival.
He said, “Tring is a date when we look forward toward the glorious new year again and also it is a date when we look back at our glorious rulers of Tripura.”
The Governor however hoped that this festival will grow from strength to strength and it will become a true platform for the culture of Tripura.
