The news was first reported by Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha through his social media account.

Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha took to social media today to highlight the inclusion of Unakoti tourist place name on the locomotive engine. He emphasized that this move reflects the implementation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Act East policy within Indian Railways.

The Unakoti , situated on Raghunandan Pahar in Gaurav Kailash, a lesser-known gem in hilly Tripura, has now gained recognition through its association with locomotive engine No. 12226 of Indian Railways' GWDG-4 category. The Chief Minister expressed his satisfaction in bringing attention to a site that has remained relatively obscure until now.

The locomotive engine, named 'Eternal Tripura' and 'Unakoti,' boasts a distinctive blue-orange color scheme. It made a captivating appearance at Mariyani junction in Assam on a mild winter misty morning, creating a memorable sight for onlookers.
