AGARTALA:

Tripura has been recognized as a 'Fast Mover' in the Logistics Ease Across Different States (LEADS) 2024 report, alongside Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Sikkim. The report was unveiled by Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, during a ceremony in New Delhi on Friday.

The event also featured the felicitation of winners under the “Logistics Excellence, Advancement, and Performance Shield (LEAPS) 2024” initiative.

According to the LEADS 2024 report, states in the North-East displayed varied performance in logistics. Assam and Arunachal Pradesh earned the 'Achievers' title, while Tripura, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Sikkim were named 'Fast Movers.' Manipur was categorized as an 'Aspirer.'

The assessment was based on four key pillars: Logistics Infrastructure, Logistics Services, Operating and Regulatory Environment, and a new criterion, Sustainable Logistics.

The report also showcases initiatives undertaken by different states and union territories across these parameters, while offering tailored recommendations to improve their logistics efficiency and support evidence-based decision-making.
