The former president of the ruling BJP in Tripura Rajib Bhattacharjee on Tuesday took oath as the Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha.
Vice-President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankar administered the oath of office to Bhattacharjee, who was elected to the Upper House on September 03, 2024 after defeating CPI-M candidate and former MLA Sudhan Das in the by-election.
After taking his oath of office, MP Rajib Bhattacharjee expressed his commitment to work for the people of Tripura. He emphasized his dedication to the vision of a developed Tripura as part of a developed India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The BJP National President JP Nadda and Leader of the House in Rajya Sabha also remained present at the oath taking ceremony. Minister Tinku Roy, state BJP general secretary Amit Rakshit among others also attended the occasion.
