Tripura Govt contemplating to end drug menace: CM Dr. Manik Saha

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Sunday inaugurated a blood donation camp here at Agartala and said that the clubs and various social organizations existing in the state should focus on ending drug menace in the state and build ‘Nesha-Mukt Tripura’.

He said, “In addition to organizing blood donation camps, the clubs and social organizations should also take the initiative of organizing discussion programmes on anti-drug.”

“The state government is contemplating to end the drug menace in the state through various means and as part of this, the government in its budget presented recently has allocated funds for opening de-addiction centres in all the eight districts of the state,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister on Sunday said that various clubs, social and voluntary organizations across the state have come forward to donate blood, where new blood donors from all over the state have also come forward to donate blood.

The Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder, Corporator Ratna Dutta and others were present in the programme. The blood donation programme was organized by the Agartala based Smriti Club.
