Tripura Govt working to boost AYUSH services in state: CM Dr Manik Saha

AGARTALA:

Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Thursday inaugurated the state level programme of observance of World Homeopathy Day here at Agartala and said that the government is mulling to establish Homeopathy Medical College in the state.

Addressing the gathering here in the programme, Chief Minister Dr Saha said that benefits of homeopathy treatment need to be propagated and disseminated. He laid emphasis on research-based treatment to provide better services. He also emphasized on applying the benefits of ancient medical systems to the medical field and advised homeopathic doctors to work on mental health.

The Chief Minister said that under the direction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Ministry of AYUSH has been formed to promote Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH) treatment. The present government in the state is also taking various initiatives to provide AYUSH services, Dr Saha said, adding that recently 7 Ayush Arogya Mandirs have been accredited by National Accreditation Board for Hospitals (NABH).

"Homeopathy may not bring immediate relief to the patients, but it is beneficial in the long-term treatment process. It has relatively fewer side effects. The homeopathy medical officers must highlight their success stories to attract people," he said.
