Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Thursday inaugurated the three days long Diwali festival and fair at Udaipur Tripurasundari age old temple and said that the government has given priority in developing religious tourism in Tripura.
Addressing the inauguration programme, the Chief Minister Dr Saha said that the Tripurasundari temple is being renovated under the PRASAD scheme of the Central government and is set to take a new shape shortly, which is expected to attract more tourists from abroad.
He said that the tourist footfalls are increasing gradually in Tripurasundari temple due to the peaceful and developed atmosphere in the state. The present government is focused on enhancing the tourism sector of the state, he said.
Former Chief Minister and MP Biplab Kumar Deb, Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Tourism Minister Sushant Chowdhury, Gomti Zilla Parishad Chairman Debal Deb Ray, MLA Rampada Jamatia, MLA Jitendra Majumdar, Udaipur Municipal Council Chairperson Sheetal Chandra Majumder, Gomati Zilla Parishad Assistant Chairman Sujan Kumar Sen, Matabari Panchayat Samiti Chairman Shilpi Das were present in the inauguration ceremony.
Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha accompanied by MP Biplab Kumar Deb, Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Sushanta Chowdhury and others performed Mangal Aarti at Kalyansagar in Tripura Sundari temple and later performed prayer.
